In 2010 I lost someone special to me and at her memorial someone expressed the importance of making the most of the dash in between the date we are born and the date we pass. That’s the dash. It is the easiest part of life to miss and before you know it, we look back a wonder, “Was that it? Was that my life?”. Most take time to honor the dates on either side of that dash and pay little attention to the notion of the dash is life.

While the dates we come into this world and leave it are equally important, the dash; those years in between should be well lived. This blog is about my dash which happens to focus on   restaurants, cooking, wine, craft beer, my adventures in L-O-V-E and travel.

“To be nobody but yourself in a world that’s doing its best to make you somebody else, is to fight the hardest battle you are ever going to fight. Never stop fighting.” ~e.e. cummings
